 Message from the Executive DirectorDear GAPT Members, The GAPT Board Officers met on Thursday to review applications and select a nominee for the position of Secretary for the 2026–2027 school year. We are pleased to share that eight qualified candidates submitted applications for consideration. In accordance with our By-Laws, the meeting was chaired by our Past President, Stephanie Walker. After thoughtful review and discussion, the Officers have selected Mr. Bernando Brown as the nominee for Secretary. Mr. Brown’s nomination will be presented to the General Membership during the Annual Business Meeting at the 2026 GAPT Summer Conference. As outlined in our By-Laws, additional nominations may be made by members from the floor at that time. We appreciate the interest and engagement of all candidates who applied and look forward to the upcoming conference. Spend a day of professional development with colleagues on May 31 in Cartersville, GA.This day-long session will feature two courses:
• PDC 01 – Introduction to Transportation
• PDC 23.5A – Leadership: Becoming a Leader
Participants will earn 9 hours of course credit toward the BA Degree in Pupil Transportation Professional Official or the new BA Degree in Pupil Transportation Fleet Official.
